Citrus Heights currently contracts with the Sacramento Regional Transit District (RT) for transit services. Route, schedule, and fare information can be found at the RT website.
SacRT provides regional bus service in Citrus Heights; Route 95 intra-city shuttle, two SmaRT Ride shuttles, plus dial-a-ride shuttle services through Paratransit for qualifying residents.
There are two transfer stations in the city: the Arcadia Transfer Station at Arcadia and Greenback, and the Louis-Orlando Transfer Center on the northern boundary which connects SacRT with the Roseville Transit and Placer County Transit lines, as well as an express bus, RT 103, that takes riders to the SacRT Watt & I-80 Light Rail station.

City Ride is now SmaRT Ride! Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) launched its microtransit pilot project, SmaRT Ride, supplementing the shuttle service "City Ride", in Citrus Heights. SmaRT Ride offers on demand, curb-to-curb, ride hailing service to any destination within Citrus Heights boundaries. Download the Microtransit smart phone app from the Google Play store or iPhone App store to your smart phone.

SmaRT Ride connects you to all Citrus Heights destinations including shopping centers, restaurants, movie theaters, community centers, parks, schools and medical facilities (Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, and Kaiser Medical Offices on Riverside Avenue in Roseville) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A SmaRT Ride request provides you with an estimated pick-up time, a notice when the you're the next passenger in the queue and alerts you when your ride is about to reach the desired destination via the Microtransit app. The app manages incoming trip requests with a software scheduling program for flexible, efficient transit routes.
You may also continue to request rides by calling 916-556-0258 or by scheduling online with https://ondemand.transloc.com/ ; however, reservations must be made on the same day, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
SmaRT Ride fares are $2.75 per trip or $1.35 per trip for those eligible for discount fare. Daily passes are also available. Visit the website for more information.
SmaRT Ride seats 12 to 14 passengers with space for two wheelchairs, and are equipped with wheelchair lifts and securements, and bike racks.
